MilliBox Showcases its Latest mmWave Anechoic Chambers and Antenna Positioner Products at IMS 2025

MilliBox, the leader in compact benchtop mmWave anechoic chambers and antenna positioners, showcased its innovations at the 2025 IEEE MTTS International Microwave (IMS 2025) Symposium in San Francisco, CA, from June 15 to June 20, 2025. Demonstrations shown at the MilliBox booth #226 include:

MilliBox demonstrated the first live 3D OTA capture of a J-Band 330 GHz antenna array with MBX32CTR. The test setup consists of an MBX32 chamber and a GIM04H-300E positioner, parabolic reflector, and probe, eliminating the far field distance constraints. This demonstration was brought together through cooperation with Eravant, which developed the reflector and the probe, as well as the frequency extenders for this system. The Antenna Under Test is a revolutionary 1x8 Antipodal Vivaldi Array on glass engineered by Nokia Bell Labs and its partners.

MilliBox demonstrated the usage of MBX32R with fixed, moving, and simulated radar targets, illustrating practical radar performance testing scenarios. This setup consists of an MBX32 compact benchtop anechoic chamber with WLL09 instrumented wall, GIM04H-300X, 3 Axis antenna positioner, LIN04 programmable linear actuator, and Eravant STR-793-12-D1 77GHz radar target simulator. This demonstration highlights the versatility and modularity of MilliBox Radar Test Systems for everyday radar characterization and tuning in the mmWave and sub-THz domain.

MilliBox introduces an innovative new type of positioner, ARM01, to reach new testing applications like planar Near-Field and RF over-the-air probe station measurement. ARM01 is a robotic arm with 5 degrees of freedom, specifically designed in-house to carry probes or frequency extenders closer to the device under test. This new positioner expands the MilliBox market reach when it comes to affordable and modular antenna testing.

IEEE Student Design Competition 7: One of several student competitions organized by the IEEE society this year asks students to compete for the best mmWave Multi-Beam 3D-printed antenna design. MilliBox provided the portable anechoic 6ft chamber MBX03 and the GIM05-340 3D Spherical Roll 3-axis positioner, for the gain measurement of the contender’s designs, the key metric in this competition.

We launched MilliBox at IMS in Philadelphia seven years ago, and since then, the demand for our products has risen continuously. As MilliBox is becoming a staple feature in many mmWave labs around the world, we continue to enrich the market with technical innovation in direct response to customer needs,” declared Dr Chinh H Doan, founder and CEO of Milliwave Silicon Solutions Inc., the company behind MilliBox.
