Alaris COJOT, a leader in antenna solutions for tactical communication, electronic warfare, and spectrum monitoring, has developed an advanced dual-band steerable beam panel antenna designed for high-performance applications across the full 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency bands. The SBA2456DB-P90, engineered for reliability and precision, combines compact design with exceptional beam steering capabilities, making it particularly effective in UAV and drone detection, countermeasures, and mission-critical communication networks.
The SBA2456DB-P90 operates in the 2400–2500 MHz and 5000–5900 MHz frequency ranges, covering the standard Wi-Fi bands. It employs a switched beam antenna type with a directional radiation pattern in sharp beam mode. Depending on the band, the antenna delivers impressive gain performance: 12 dBi at 2.45 GHz and 16 dBi at 5.5 GHz, ensuring reliable long-range communication and superior signal quality.
To achieve precise coverage, the antenna offers 11 sharp selectable beams that can be steered with high accuracy. At 2.45 GHz, the 3 dB beamwidth is 30° in both the H-plane and E-plane, while at 5.5 GHz it narrows to 15° in both planes, enhancing directivity. The antenna maintains a typical sidelobe level of -12 dB (H-plane), reducing interference from unwanted directions. This controlled radiation pattern ensures minimal leakage and optimized performance even in challenging environments.
The SBA2456DB-P90 supports a nominal impedance of 50 Ω with a VSWR of less than 2.5, making it well-matched for standard RF systems. With a power rating of 10 W (CW), it is suitable for continuous operation in demanding tactical scenarios. Power is supplied via a 19–32 VDC input (<200 mA), compliant with MIL-STD-1275E, ensuring compatibility with military-grade platforms. Its beam switching speed of less than 1 µs enables near-instantaneous adaptation to changing interference or threat environments.
The antenna integrates a selectable patch array radiator with 8 elements. Despite its powerful performance, it comes in a compact form factor with a height and diameter of 320 mm each, and a total weight of 1.8 kg, making it easy to mount and deploy across fixed and mobile platforms. For installation, the antenna is equipped with a female N-type RF connector and 10 PIN MIL-DTL-26482, Shell size 12, power and control interface. A mounting bracket for 50–60 mm masts is provided, ensuring robust and flexible deployment in field conditions.
The SBA2456DB-P90 exemplifies the fusion of compact design, advanced beam steering, and robust construction. Its ability to rapidly switch between beams, combined with its high-gain directional performance and low sidelobe levels, makes it ideal for modern tactical communication systems, electronic warfare, and counter-UAV strategies.
