Antenova has launched Opaca, a surface-mount design that operates in band 71 (617 – 698 MHz) used by T-Mobile in the USA. Since its debut in 2021, 5G connections worldwide have soared past 1.5 billion in 2024, making it the fastestgrowing mobile technology the industry has seen. 5G comes in three main types: Low-band (600 MHz to 1 GHz), mid-band (1 GHz – 6 GHz), and high-band (above 24 GHz).
The Opaca (SR4L104) is ‘future-proofed’ as it covers the most common current 4G & 5G bands globally, ranging from 617 to 7125 MHz frequency, including the new 5G bands:
- Band 46 (5150–5925 MHz) WiFi
- Band 47 (5855 – 5925 MHz) V2X – vehicle communication band
- Band n48 (3550 to 3700 MHz) CBRS – Citizens Broadband Radio Service
- Band 71 (617-698 MHz) used by T-Mobile in the USA
- Band n77 (3300 – 4200MHz)
- Band n79 (4400–5000 MHz)
- Band n96 (5925 – 7125 MHz)
- Band n102 (5925–6425 MHz)
- Band n104 (6425–7125 MHz)
Opaca measures 38 x 10 x 3.3 mm and requires 657 sq mm clearance (7.3 x 38 [10+7.3]), which is smaller than most competitor antennas. Antenova’s latest cellular antenna maintains high performance across a range of 37.1% to 77.8%, depending on the band. An evaluation board (SR4L104-EVB-1) that measures 145.3 mm x 38.6 mm is available for testing with your application.
Opaca (SR4L104) will bridge 4G/LTE networks as 5G becomes the new global standard. 5G offers faster data rates and lower latency than 4G, making this cellular antenna well-suited for video streaming applications, such as CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) cameras.
Opaca (SR4L104) is an excellent choice for 4G and 5G applications, making it suitable for a wide range of use cases including telematics, POS (Point of Sales) terminals, cellular WiFi hotspots, and pico base stations. It is also well-suited for IoT (Internet of Things) solutions, drone communications, M2M (Machine-to-Machine) connectivity, and CCTV systems operating over 4G and 5G networks.
Antenova’s design laboratories are equipped with the latest antenna design tools and test chambers. We provide antenna design, test, and technical integration services to help you complete your design and obtain the required certifications.
