Micro Harmonics Unveils High-Performance mmWave Orthomode Transducer for 220–330 GHz

Micro Harmonics has launched its latest mmWave orthomode transducer (OMT), engineered for high frequency applications requiring low loss, excellent polarization purity and wideband operation. The WR-3.4 orthomode transducer is optimized for systems operating in the 220 to 330 GHz frequency range, delivering performance that meets or exceeds stringent requirements for satellite communications, 5G/6G testbeds, radiometers and scientific instrumentation.

Its precision-machined waveguide structure ensures consistent electrical performance, while a compact mechanical footprint allows seamless integration into front-end assemblies where size, weight and reliability are critical.

“By achieving excellent isolation and low insertion loss across such a wide millimeter-wave band, this OMT gives engineers the flexibility to push system performance further,” said Diane Kees, CEO and COO at Micro Harmonics Corporation. “It is designed to meet the needs of both commercial and scientific users working at the leading edge of high-frequency technology.”

The new OT034 OMT is available immediately for both evaluation and production orders. It expands Micro Harmonics’ family of orthomode transducers, which already includes: OT080 (WR-8): 90–140 GHz, OT065 (WR-6.5): 110–170 GHz, and OT051 (WR-5.1): 140–220 GHz.
