Rydberg Technologies develops and manufactures compact, high-performance atomic quantum devices and subsystem hardware for RF applications. Its proprietary platform leverages the quantum properties of Rydberg atoms - atoms with a single quasi-free electron orbiting the nucleus - to detect electromagnetic signals across frequencies from DC to THz with exceptional precision. This Rydberg RF technology enhances traditional RF performance and enables new capabilities in RF sensing, measurement, and imaging beyond the reach of conventional antenna and solid-state systems. The company has currently developed three solutions based on their proprietary quantum technology. They are RFMS, miniSatSpec, and atomic vapor cells and vacuum chambers.
Key Products Developed by Rydberg Technologies
Rydberg Field Measurement System (RFMS)
The RFMS is a complete Rydberg atomic spectroscopy system configured to measure and characterize RF fields over a wide range of frequencies and intensities. Capable of measuring E-field characteristics over an RF frequency range otherwise impossible without multiple receiver antennas, the RFMS is a self-calibrated, flexible, and powerful tool for RF metrology applications.
The RFMS is comprised of an atomic RF field probe (RFP) connected to a mainframe control unit with a ruggedized fiber-optic patch cord and is operated using a terminal software interface to provide SI-traceable RF measurements for frequency ranges over 6 orders of magnitude with a single aperture.
Utilizing atomic sensing methods that depend only on invariable atomic parameters and fundamental physical constants traceable to the SI, the RFMS can provide RF field measurement uncertainties an order of magnitude below those of classical antenna standards. Target applications include RF test and measurement, metrology, and RF sensing and detection.
miniSatSpec
miniSatSpec is a rugged, compact, and user-friendly atomic reference solution for quantum and photonic applications. It delivers reliable atomic referencing, laser frequency stabilization, and calibration capabilities in a streamlined, plug-and-play form factor.

At the core of the miniSatSpec is its advanced atomic butterfly package, known as the chipSpec. This precision-engineered unit houses a miniature vapor cell containing a small quantity of high-purity alkali vapor—typically rubidium, cesium, and/or potassium—integrated with temperature control, electric and magnetic field modulation, photodiodes, and optics within a fully monolithic design. The chip includes electrical pins for access to all analog I/Os, along with an optical window for free-space or fiber-coupled light input.
The miniSatSpec combines the chipSpec with low-noise analog and digital electronics in an all-in-one package, enabling seamless operation with your laser source and system. Its compact footprint and durable design ensure dependable performance even in demanding operational environments. Target applications include laser stabilization, quantum sensing, and other scientific research applications.
Atomic Vapor Cells and Vacuum Chambers
Atoms form the foundation of nearly all quantum technologies—enabling ultra-precise atomic clocks, laser frequency stabilization, quantum computing with neutral atoms, long-lived quantum memories, and Rydberg-based RF sensing.

Rydberg Technologies designs and manufactures atomic vapor cells and vacuum chambers that serve as critical components in quantum and photonic devices. Backed by nearly a decade of specialized experience in vapor cell engineering, testing, and production, Rydberg’s team of expert physicists and engineers delivers products of the highest quality for research and commercial applications.
Their offerings include standard and custom vapor cells made from materials such as Pyrex and quartz, available in macro (>10 mm), meso (≈10 mm), mini (<10 mm), and MEMS sizes. These cells can contain alkali atoms and buffer gases, feature AR or paraffin coatings, and integrate conductors, electronics, heaters, and optics as needed. All products undergo rigorous optical and atomic spectroscopy testing to ensure reliable performance.
Rydberg Technologies is a pioneering quantum technology company leveraging the principles of quantum mechanics to revolutionize capabilities across commercial, government, and defense industries. The company develops and manufactures deployable atomic quantum devices and subsystem hardware that achieve pristine control of atoms and light in compact, real-world systems. Its interdisciplinary team—spanning atomic and quantum physics, engineering, photonics, and business—drives innovation in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where individual growth fuels organizational success.
