Alaris COJOT Wideband Antenna Selected for Airbus Eurodrone Program

Alaris COJOT reported that its Wideband VHF/UHF Antenna has been officially selected by Airbus Defence and Space for the Eurodrone Ground Station deployment, marking a significant milestone in advancing secure and resilient communications for Europe’s next-generation unmanned aerial systems.

The Wideband VHF/UHF Antenna selected is a rugged, high-performance dipole antenna designed to deliver exceptional reliability and versatility across the 30–512 MHz frequency range. With its omnidirectional radiation pattern, passive matching, and robust mechanical design, the antenna ensures uninterrupted connectivity in demanding C3I (Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence) environments. Its proven performance with modern Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) matches the Eurodrone program’s stringent requirements.

Key Features of the selected antenna:

  • Wideband coverage: 30–512 MHz for maximum interoperability
  • Rugged mechanical design:  protected against High Voltage environments, designed to MIL-STD-810
  • Tool-free adaptability: radiator and whip can be detached without tools for rapid deployment
  • High power handling: rated up to 80 W with nominal 50 Ω impedance
  • Operational reliability: ensures stable link performance also in congested RF environments typical for modern UAS operations

The Eurodrone programme, a flagship European defence initiative, requires robust ground station infrastructure to support secure command, control, and data exchange with unmanned aerial platforms. By integrating this specific Wideband VHF/UHF Antenna , the ground stations will benefit from enhanced resilience, interoperability, and mission readiness.

The deployment of this antenna into the Eurodrone Ground Station architecture represents a strong endorsement of Alaris COJOT’s expertise in wideband antenna technology and its role in supporting Europe’s strategic autonomy in defence communications.
