STMicroelectronics Introduces NFC Tag Evaluation Kit for both Long and Short Range Communication

STMicroelectronics has developed the ST25-TAG-BAG-UT1, a ready-to-use evaluation kit designed to help developers and system designers explore a wide range of NFC tag applications. The ST25-TAG-BAG-UT1 kit brings together multiple NFC tags based on NFC Forum Type 5 and Type 2 specifications. It includes tags built around the ST25TV02KC and ST25TN01K integrated circuits, each paired with antennas of varying sizes and materials. These antenna designs incorporate advanced features, such as tamper detection, enabling evaluation across diverse real-world use cases.

According to STMicroelectronics, the evaluation set is aimed at demonstrating the capabilities of its ST25TV and ST25TN series NFC tags, which are part of the broader ST25T product family. The kit supports both long-range NFC/RFID communication compliant with ISO/IEC 15693 and short-range NFC operation compliant with ISO/IEC 14443.

With memory sizes ranging from 1 Kbit to 2 Kbit and support for advanced tag features, the ST25-TAG-BAG-UT1 is positioned as a practical tool for engineers assessing NFC solutions for identification, tracking, authentication, and smart labeling applications.
