Nuvotronics, a designer and manufacturer of radio frequency passive components, has introduced Monolithic Micro-Multiplexers (μMUX), designed to combine ultra-low insertion loss and high channel isolation within a monolithic structure that is 4x smaller than traditional discrete solutions.
The monolithic construction reduces size compared to conventional discrete multiplexers, freeing PCB space for other components. Ultra-low insertion loss supports improved receiver sensitivity and extended operational range. High adjacent-channel rejection helps limit interference in dense RF environments. The devices are available in miniature SMT form factors suitable for production integration.
The μMUX devices are engineered for Ka-band performance across multiple sectors. In commercial and government satellite communications, they are used in ground gateways, user terminals, inter-satellite links and feeder links. In defense and aerospace RF systems, applications include electronic-warfare receivers across air, ground and naval platforms, ISR pods, SIGINT sets, radar warning receivers, and missile or precision-guided munition seekers.
They are also suited for UAVs, CubeSats and other SWaP-constrained platforms, as well as test and measurement environments such as portable spectrum and network analyzers and ATE frequency heads and channel emulators.
