Sumitomo Electric to Showcase Millimeter Wave and All-Optical Network Technologies at MWC 2026

Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. will exhibit its next-generation communication technologies at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026, taking place in Barcelona, Spain, from March 2 to 5, 2026. At the event, the company will showcase a high-speed, high-capacity millimeter-wave communication system and an all-optical network transceiver (APN transceiver) at the Japan Pavilion – Sumitomo Electric Booth (Hall 6, Stand 6E54).

MWC, organized by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), is one of the largest mobile communications exhibitions worldwide, bringing together mobile operators, equipment manufacturers, and technology providers. The event attracts more than 100,000 attendees annually and serves as a global platform for presenting emerging technologies and market trends.

At its booth, Sumitomo Electric will present solutions aimed at future communication infrastructure, including technologies related to 6G and all-photonics networks (APN). Exhibits will include millimeter wave-based distributed antenna systems (DAS), industrial 5G edge AI terminals, and APN transceivers, with live demonstrations planned during the show. The company stated that it looks forward to engaging with visitors and providing hands-on demonstrations of its latest communication technologies at MWC 2026.
