Gemtek Introduces Wi-Fi 8 Broadband Strategy for AI-Driven Service Networks at MWC 2026

Gemtek has unveiled its next-generation broadband strategy centered on Wi-Fi 8, positioning the emerging standard as a foundational technology for AI-driven, service-oriented networks. The announcement, made at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, reflects the company’s focus on enabling service providers to transition from bandwidth-centric connectivity to intelligent, experience-driven networking. The company is exhibiting its Wi-Fi 8 and AI-powered connectivity portfolio at MWC 2026, Hall 5, Stand E11.

Under the theme “From Speed to Intelligence,” Gemtek is showcasing the integration of Wi-Fi 8, Wi-Fi over mmWave Technology (WoMT), Edge AI, and its AI OSM (Open Standard Module) platform. The combined architecture is designed to transform broadband infrastructure into an intelligent network platform capable of real-time awareness, adaptive optimization, and service enablement for operators and enterprise environments. Gemtek’s Wi-Fi 8 solutions are engineered to deliver deterministic low latency, carrier-grade reliability, multi-AP coordination, and AI-assisted optimization. The platform supports immersive applications, real-time AI interaction, and large-scale residential and enterprise deployments.

To address growing global demand for cost-efficient, high-capacity Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), the company introduced its WoMT solution. WoMT extends Wi-Fi 7 baseband technology into the 5G FR2 mmWave spectrum, enabling multi-gigabit throughput while alleviating congestion in the FR1 band. The solution is also positioned as a cost-effective option for cellular tower backhaul deployments.

At the network edge, Gemtek’s AI Gateways and Routers integrate AI compute capabilities directly into customer premises equipment (CPE), enabling low-latency, on-device AI services, enhanced data privacy, and reduced reliance on centralized cloud infrastructure. Through the integration of Wi-Fi 8, WoMT, Edge AI, and AI OSM, the company aims to support service providers in evolving toward AI-enabled service delivery models.
