Skyworks Introduces New Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) Filters up to 7 GHz

Skyworks Solutions has expanded its RF portfolio with the introduction of new Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) filter solutions. The addition of BAW technology enables it to offer a comprehensive, fully in-house spectrum of filtering solutions. This development builds on the foundation established through its acquisition of Panasonic Filter Solutions, allowing Skyworks to leverage decades of expertise in filter design and manufacturing. By integrating BAW filters into its lineup, Skyworks is expanding its total addressable market in mobile and positioning itself to better serve a broader range of customers and applications.

The new portfolio includes multiple high-frequency filter solutions tailored for next-generation wireless systems. Among them are full-band Wi-Fi filters supporting frequencies up to 7.245 GHz, dedicated 5 GHz filters, and advanced 6–7 GHz BAW filters designed for emerging Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 platforms. The lineup also features automotive-grade filters, including solutions for 5 GHz and 6 GHz Wi-Fi as well as C-V2X notch filtering, addressing the growing demand for robust in-vehicle connectivity.

All products are offered in compact multi-chip module (MCM) packages, optimized for space-constrained designs while maintaining high performance across demanding RF environments.

New Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) Filter Solutions

Skyworks’ BAW filters are engineered to support a wide array of applications, including tri-band Wi-Fi access points, routers, gateways, and extenders, as well as System-in-Package (SiP) modules for embedded systems. In the automotive sector, the solutions are designed for Wi-Fi-enabled ECU modules, telematics, and infotainment systems, while also enabling seamless coexistence with cellular, Bluetooth, and V2X radios.
