The company continues to operate out of its established design center in San Diego while expanding its presence through facilities in India, China, and Turkey, positioning itself as a globally distributed semiconductor design organization.
Transition from Renesas and Operational Continuity
The transition from Renesas to Axiro has been structured to ensure continuity across manufacturing, supply chain, and customer engagement. As a fabless semiconductor company, Axiro continues to use the same outsourced fabrication, assembly, and testing partners, with any changes in testing locations being requalified to existing standards. Importantly, product part numbers remain unchanged, and the country of origin - based on assembly - continues to remain consistent, minimizing any disruption to customers or procurement processes.
To further support this transition, Renesas will continue to play a temporary operational role. For up to 12 months following April 3, 2025, Renesas will assist Axiro in managing manufacturing and supply chain processes. During the first six months, Renesas was acting as an agent for Axiro, servicing both existing and new purchase orders. During this period, customers could still see Renesas branding on invoices and shipping documentation, reflecting this transitional arrangement. Warranty responsibilities are also clearly defined, with Renesas covering products shipped before April 2025 and Axiro taking over thereafter.
Product Portfolio and Technology Focus
Axiro’s product portfolio spans a broad range of RF and mmWave components designed for high-performance wireless systems. This includes RF and mmWave amplifiers, mixers, variable gain amplifiers, modulators, demodulators, phased array beamformers, and RF attenuators. Many of these products incorporate proprietary technologies developed by Renesas, such as Zero-Distortion™ and FlatNoise™, enabling improved linearity, lower power consumption, and enhanced signal integrity in demanding RF environments.
