Mtron Introduces New High-Power, Multi-Octave N-Plexers for Electronic Warfare Applications

Mtron has expanded its electronic warfare portfolio with the introduction of new high-power handling multi-octave n-plexers, marking a significant step forward in advanced signal processing technology. Building on the success of n-plexers developed over the past decade, Mtron is introducing these solutions specifically for electronic warfare (EW) applications. The products are available in lumped element, cavity, and suspended substrate topologies, offering flexibility across a wide range of deployment needs. The versatility and performance of multi-octave n-plexers are expected to strengthen modern EW systems with capabilities critical for effective threat detection and response.

Key Features and Benefits of Multi-Octave N-Plexers

  • Reception and Analysis of Spread-Spectrum Signals: Facilitates real-time analysis and processing across a broad spectrum of signals, which is essential for promptly identifying and responding to threats in dynamic electromagnetic environments.
  • Better Signal to Noise Ratio: Enhances the signal-to-noise ratio by isolating desired signals from background noise. This heightened sensitivity empowers EW systems to detect and track weaker signals amidst the most challenging spectrum conditions.
  • Agility and Adaptability: Multi-octave n-plexers enable rapid frequency switching and response to emerging threats. They are used in modern electronic warfare tactics such as frequency-hopping and direct-sequence spread-spectrum techniques.
  • Other product features include support for multi-octave bands, enabling operation across a wide frequency range and low signal loss of less than 1.0 dB, ensuring efficient signal transmission with minimal degradation. Additionally, high power handling designs are available, making it suitable for demanding electronic warfare applications.
