HUBER+SUHNER Expands its SMPM RF Connector Solutions for High-Density Applications

HUBER+SUHNER has introduced the next evolution in its SMPM RF connector portfolio as RF systems continue to evolve at a rapid pace, with designers and engineers seeking to deliver high performance in increasingly smaller spaces. From advanced test equipment to mission-critical aerospace and defence applications, miniaturisation is no longer optional and has become essential. To support this, Huber+Suhner has announced an expansion of its SMPM RF connector range. The connectors are designed specifically for high-frequency and high-density environments where space is constrained, while focusing on reliability and precision.

The SMPM connector series operates at frequencies of up to 65 GHz, making it suitable for high-performance RF applications. Its compact and miniaturised design enables higher packing density, allowing engineers to optimise layouts where board space is limited and performance margins are tight. The connectors support both board-to-board and board-to-cable configurations, providing flexibility across a wide range of system architectures.

A key aspect of the new SMPM portfolio is its price-to-performance ratio. Through specific material and plating choices, the company has developed a solution that balances cost effectiveness with high-frequency performance while maintaining quality and precision.

Building on a long-standing heritage of MIL-spec compliant SMPM solutions, HUBER+SUHNER has developed this new assortment to address a broader range of high-performance applications, particularly within aerospace and defense as well as test and measurement markets.

The connectors are applicable across several use cases, including radar systems, satellite and space applications, handheld and ground equipment, and RF test instruments and assemblies. They are designed to perform consistently in demanding operational environments where signal integrity is critical.

The SMPM connectors also include customisable options and are supported by in-house technical expertise, enabling designs to be adapted to specific application requirements.
