Silicon Mitus, an advanced specialist in Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) and analog semiconductors, has developed an ultra-small silicon capacitor for high frequency and delivered samples for evaluation to its customers. A capacitor is an electrical component that temporarily stores a large amount of charge in a conductor and contributes to the stable supply of current to electronic components.
Silicon capacitors, which are produced using semiconductor manufacturing technology, are ultra-small and thin (only a dozen micrometers high). As a result, they are commonly used for high-performance SoC package modules. Furthermore, as one or two units of silicon capacitors can replace several units of existing Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCC), their usage in IoT and SoC products is expected to rise.
In addition, thanks to the excellent high-frequency characteristics of silicon capacitors, their application range is expanding to 5G and 6G communication areas.
Silicon Mitus expects to expand its customer base with the introduction of its new silicon capacitors, based on its long experience of designing and manufacturing highly integrated analog ICs.
