The RFX-3100 Series from Mercury Systems are Microwave Down-converters that convert an input frequency from 0.5 – 18 GHz to an output frequency from 1 – 1.5 GHz. These converters have a tuning resolution of 10 kHz and provide a gain of up to 30 dB in 1 dB steps. They provide an image rejection of more than 60 dB and have spurious levels better than -70 dBm. These down-converters integrate fully modernized microwave components and microprocessors for up-to-date performance capabilities and contain a ruggedized full-featured microwave tuner designed for both set-on and search applications.
These converters have two modes for Search that are SCPI-based: List and Step/Scan. Using this option, a TTL trigger line is brought to the front panel with a tuning speed of up to 600 µs. The converters also allow remote control using an SCPI-type command set or a browser-based GUI interface. These converter series contain options for legacy interfaces and commands using legacy protocols.
The RFX-3100 Series also incorporates advanced current circuitry and components to ensure long life without the problems of obsolescence and poor field reliability of past generations of equipment. They are available in a legacy ATR and half ATR chassis for form/fit/function compatibility with established standards and are qualified for shock, vibration, EMI, salt, dust, and other harsh environments. These converters require an AC supply of 115/230 V and consume less than 60 W of power.
