The IPS-355 from InnoSent is a Doppler Radar Transceiver that operates from 24.150 to 24.250 GHz. It has been designed to detect moving objects as well as measure their speed. This transceiver uses dual-channel operation to extract the direction of motion and uses a split transmitting and receiving path to maximize sensitivity. It has an integrated IF amplifier to increase the signal level and has a built-in bandpass filter to limit the bandwidth of the radar sensor, thereby lowering the noise for efficient target detection and ranging. This radar sensor requires a DC supply from 4.25 to 5.75 V and consumes 48 mA of current (active mode).
The IPS-355 can detect objects over a range of 30 m (depending on radar cross section (RCS)). It delivers a continuous output power of 11.7 dBm with a gain of 10 dBi in the Tx path. On the Rx side, it provides a gain of 10 dBi over an IF bandwidth of up to 60 kHz. This radar module measures 8.3 x 44.0 x 30.0 mm and is ideal for industrial applications, automation, escalator control, and motion detection.
