The K3U from Communications & Power Industries is a compact klystron high power amplifier that operates from 13.75 to 14.5 GHz in the Ku-band. This SATCOM amplifier delivers a gain of more than 80 dB with an klystron output power of up to 2.45 kW and has a VSWR of 2.0:1. It is ideal for Direct-to-Home service providers for uplink service, and is also very popular for other broadcasting applications.
The system has a separate drawers for the RF section and Power Supply that slide out from a standard rack. The RF drawer measures 19 x 21 x 28.75 inches and PS drawer measures 19 x 8.75 x 24 inches. It is available as single unit or in redundant or combined system configuration.
The amplifier meets International Safety Standard EN-60215, Electromagnetic Compatibility 2014/30/EU and Harmonic Standard EN-61000-3-2.
