What are Redundancy Switches?

Redundancy Switches are switches that have in-built redundancy. Lets assume there is a switch that malfunctions in a critical SATCOM system, the whole system will go down due. To avoid this happening, Redundancy Switches are used in areas of critical performance, so that when a switch malfunctions, a backup switch gets activated. This ensures that the whole system continues to operate as require.

Redundancy switches are available with additional functionalities depending on its operational mode. These devices can have alarms and various monitor & control options. For instance, there are automatic redundancy switches that provide switching between primary and secondary equipment automatically when require. There are also redundancy switches where the activation of the backup switch needs to be done manually.

everything RF has listed Redundancy Switches for SATCOM applications from the leading manufacturers in the industry.
