RF Rotary Joints are electromechanical components designed to transmit RF signals between stationary and movable parts of a system. They are fully integrated assemblies that consist of slip rings, azimuth position sensors, optical encoders, motors, etc., which form the rotating subsystem. Rotary joints are available in three geometrical configurations, I style, U style, and L style. These configurations differ in the orientation of the input and output connections of the rotary joint.

RF rotary joints are ideal for use in radar systems for air traffic control (ATC), weather monitoring, military, satellite, microwave design, medical devices, and aerospace applications.

Types of Rotary Joints:

  • Coaxial Rotary Joints: These are the rotary joints with coaxial input and output terminals. One of the connectors of this rotary joint is fixed, and the other is rotating.
  • Waveguide Rotary Joints: These are the rotary joints with a waveguide interface at the input and output terminals. One of the terminals of this rotary joint rotates, and the other is fixed.
  • Waveguide to Coaxial Rotary Joints: These are the rotary joints with a waveguide interface at one terminal input and a coaxial interface at the other terminal.

everything RF lists RF Rotary Joints from the leading manufacturers. Use the parametric search tools to narrow down on products based on your requirement.
