What are Waveguide Tees?
Waveguide Tees are mainly used for combining or splitting power in a waveguide systems. Tee's are available in two configurations - An E-plane tee connected in series or an H-plane tee connected in shunt with section or branch of main waveguide transmission line. Waveguide Tees are made from aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, or silver and have circular, elliptical, or rectangular cross sections. These are usually 3-Port devices.
Another configuration of wavegyuide tee available is the magic tee. This is a four-port, 180 degree hybrid splitter which was originally developed in World-War II. The magic tee can be used as a power combiner or divider. It is ideally lossless, so all power into one port can be assumed to exit the remaining ports.
