MPS Releases 40 GHz Optical Transmitters, Optimizing SWaP-C with Innovative E/O Conversion Technology

Microwave Photonics Systems has introduced a new line of microwave fiber optic transmitters. The MP-9000-22/40 product transmitters leverage a newly developed, industry-disruptive electric to optical (E/O) conversion technology. This new technology, along with MPS proprietary RF circuits, minimizes system noise figures while dramatically reducing the physical size and cost of these E/O converters.

The MP-9000-22 product family supports broadband RF signals over a frequency range of 0 to 22 GHz, while the MP-9000-40 product family supports RF signals over the 0 to 40 GHz frequency range. These new transmitters are especially useful in high density applications such as Phased Array, aerospace and DWDM multi-wavelength applications.

Coupled with the MP-8000-RX’s  companion Photonic Receiver‘s incorporation of a high-speed, low-distortion PIN photodiode detector, assures low noise and high dynamic range link performance over varying frequency, temperature, and optical loss budgets. This Optical Transmitter series have advanced Built-In-Test (BIT) diagnostic capabilities, which provide remote status and monitoring of critical parameters.
