Silvus Technologies Introduces Ultra-low SWaP MANET Radio for Tactical Applications

Silvus Technolgies has developed StreamCaster Lite 5200, which is a new radio that is designed to unify C2, data, and communications relay capabilities in one streamlined MANET radio solution. It features an ultra-low SWaP OEM module form factor, making it 60% smaller and 50% lighter than the SL4200 OEM module. This makes it suitable for integration into tactical unmanned systems, with the flexibility for body-worn and manned vehicle applications.

The SL5200 delivers class-leading power, range, and mobility with up to 2 Watts output power and 100 Mbps data rate over a frequency range from 1350-1440 MHz (L-Band), 2200-2500 MHz (S-Band), and 1350-1440 MHz + 2200-2500 MHz (L + S), enabling it to support high bandwidth of 5/10/20 MHz (2.5/1.25 MHz optional), bi-directional C2, video, sensor and telemetry data communications in one self-contained module.

At the heart of this StreamCaster MANET radio is Silvus’ proprietary MN-MIMO waveform – capable of linking hundreds of nodes with unmatched range, throughput, EW resiliency and scalability. Natively compatible with StreamCaster 4000-series MANET radios, SL5200 allows users to connect multiple UAVs, UGVs, sensors, personnel and manned/unmanned platforms – to actualize a common operating picture through one massively scalable unified mesh network.

Silvus also provides access to Spectrum Dominance expansive suite of LPI/LPD and Anti-Jamming capabilities such as MANET spectrum analyzer, MANET power control, MANET protected waveform, MANET interference avoidance, and MANET interference cancellation, providing secure and protected communications in congested and contested environments.

The SL5200 has a receive sensitivity of -101 dBm. It can be configured using Ethernet, RS232, and USB interfaces and requires a DC supply from 9 to 32 V. This radio is available in an enclosure that measures 63.5 x 44.45 x 10.41 mm and has two SMPM (male) RF connectors.
