Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global leader in IoT innovation, has introduced the SC682A, a multi-mode smart LTE module, at electronica 2024. Designed to support a wide range of industrial and consumer applications, the SC682A integrates LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, and dual-band GNSS capabilities. This high-performance module is built for longevity, with an operating system upgrade path from Android 13 to Android 18, ensuring support through at least 2030.

The SC682A is engineered to deliver high performance with flexible memory options, supporting an LPDDR4X + eMMC memory structure. It is equipped for applications that require robust multimedia support, capable of delivering high data rates of up to 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink over LTE Cat 4. This data capacity is essential for applications such as video streaming, entertainment systems, and more.
Designed to operate in temperatures from -35°C to +75°C, the SC682A module meets both RoHS and REACH compliance standards. At a compact 43.0 mm x 44.0 mm x 2.85 mm, the module is ideally suited for device designers and developers looking for a small form factor solution. Its adaptable interface includes support for cameras, touch panels, microphones, speakers, UART, USB, I2C, and SPI, making it an excellent choice for applications in POS systems, home gateways, robotics, wearables, safety devices, vending machines, and audio and video recording devices.
Security and Compliance Built-in
Quectel places strong emphasis on IoT security. The SC682A module includes comprehensive security measures, created in partnership with independent third-party testers. These include SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) generation, VEX file integration, and thorough firmware analysis. Additionally, the module will be certified under the EU’s RED DA cybersecurity regulations, ensuring compliance and peace of mind for Quectel’s customers.
Enhanced Antenna Options for Diverse Applications
For enhanced connectivity, Quectel provides multiple antenna options compatible with the SC682A. These include the YEMN017AA and YEMN016AA combo antennas, as well as the four-port YEMN400J1AH and YEMN401J1AH options. For devices requiring embedded antennas, Quectel offers the YF0022DA (LTE Main and RX-Diversity), YFGA003AA (GNSS), and YF0027AA (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth).
