At Mobile World Congress 2019, Comba Telecom will be showcasing its state-of-the-art 5G innovations and solutions, supporting the macro and indoor network evolution towards future network, and smart city applications for the IoT era.
The comprehensive 5G solution portfolios to be showcased will include: base station antennas, fixed wireless access, Open RAN RRU, in-building wireless systems, and smart city solutions.
- 5G Base Station Antenna Solutions: Comba Telecom has been active in the R&D of new products and technologies, and promoting the evolution of mobile networks to 5G. In addition to Comba’s 5G massive MIMO antenna, two newly developed all-in-one 5G-oriented antennas – the Super Multiband Antenna and TDD+FDD Integrated Antenna will debut as part of the turnkey solutions to support massive data traffic and mobile broadband at the event.

- 5G Open RAN RRU: To improve network efficiency, support open interface and interoperability between different network players, and prepare for 5G NFV and commercialization, Comba’s Remote Radio Unit (RRU) is a product series designed with advanced signal processing, multi-TRX radio technology and high-power efficiency technology. It supports global major frequency bands and CPRI/eCPRI interface to BBU and fulfills the requirements for 5G network as an important part of the Open RAN ecosystem.
- 5G In-Building Wireless Solutions: With growing demands on mobile communication services, end-users, operators and network infrastructure providers are increasingly looking for a reliable and future-proof in-building wireless connectivity that offers large coverage and high capacity, aiming to take the end-user experience to a higher level. End-to-end solutions for large venues, metro, low to medium capacity in-building coverage, blind-spot, and hotspot layer coverage will show visitors how to create ubiquitous indoor connectivity along the macro network evolution from 4G to 5G.
- 5G Smart Solutions: Comba Telecom will demonstrate ScanViS GateGuard and ScanViS CamGuard – the two powerful facial recognition systems for access control and attendance taking with facial recognition algorithm trained by deep learning. Both systems allow hardware and software integration for different application scenarios. Also, Smart Pole opens up opportunities for mobile carriers, city and municipal governments to optimize network infrastructure and connect multiple IoT applications using shared street furniture, thus providing innovative services to citizens and facilitating the development of a smart city.
