Linearization tech-niques are incorpo-rated into power amplifiers and transmit-ters for the dual purposes of improving linearity and for allowing opera-tion with less back-off and therefore higher effi-ciency. This article pro-vides a summary of the three main families of techniques have been developed: Feedback, feedforward, and predistortion.
