Generating Frequency Agile and Custom Waveforms
There is considerable interest in generat-ing complex wave-forms to test radar and communications systems. To create these wave-forms, an arbitrary wave-form generator (AWG) is one of the most flexi-ble methods of signal simulation. Any signal that can be mathematically described can be output from the AWG. The waveform descrip- tion can be performed using common mathe-matical tools (such as Matlab®), or by using customized software, such as the Agilent N7509A waveform generation toolbox used for wideband signal simulation.
