Different Satellite Navigation Systems Deployed Across the Globe
Satellite navigation systems have become extremely popular over the last few years. One common misconception about these systems is that GPS is the umbrella term for all satellite navigation. However contrary to popular belief GPS (Global Positioning System) is a term associated with the NAVSTAR system in the United States. GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is the generic term used to define all global systems. This includes GPS and other equivalent technologies that are used across the globe.
