Gain flatness is the difference between the minimum and maximum gain, measured over a given frequency range. It specifies the range of variation in the gain of a device over the frequency range. Variations in gain over a specific bandwidth can cause issues as different frequency signals will not be amplified equally. distortion in the transmitted signal because frequency components will not be amplified equally.
