everything RF recently interviewed Mr. Roland Teoh, the owner and CEO of Dynamic Engineers. Dynamic Engineers supplies high performance crystals, reference oscillators, crystal filters, LC-filters, VCO's, and frequency synthesizer modules to its customers in US, European, and Asian markets.
Mr. Roland Teoh has been in the industry of value-added engineering design for over 30 years. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He has also built and invested on real estate properties in the US and Asia.
Q. Can you give us a brief history about Dynamic Engineers?
Roland Teoh: Since 1986, Dynamic Engineers Inc. (DEI) of Houston, Texas, has been supplying global customers with customized solutions to their RF components requirements. We started as a small office in Houston, Texas. Over the past three and a half decades, we have built Dynamic Engineers into a leading engineering design company, serving customers all over the world. In addition to our US headquarters, DEI has seven regional sales and engineering offices in Asia, as well as manufacturing/design facilities in Europe and Asia. We fully comply with all US laws and regulations regarding export control of our products and have supplied products to the leading wireless communication companies in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Q. What Products and/or Services do you provide?
Roland Teoh: Our products fall into two categories:
Electronic Components: We provide electronic components for wireless communication operators, such as SATCOM, land mobile communication, cellular communication, and test equipment. Our range of products include crystal oscillators, crystal filters, resistors, capacitors, inductors, integrated circuits, cable assemblies, transistors, and circuit boards. With our technical expertise in radio frequency and microwave communications, we provide our customers with a full range of services from device matching, screening, and designing test fixtures to analyzing all types of RF power and crystal devices through sample analysis.
High Temperature Oil and Gas: We provide customized services for high-temperature oil and gas applications worldwide up to +230°C. Our expertise includes:
- Enormous database of high temperature components with operating temperature up to +150°C to +230°C
- Custom design solutions and technology transfer
- Extreme temperature assembly and testing
- Upgrade +125°C modules to +150°C or +175°C by replacing components to enhance reliability and temperature tolerance through the use of the following:
- High temperature microprocessors to replace EQL FPGA's
- High temperature capacitors
- High temperature resistant materials
- High temperature analog / digital conversion technology
Q. What market/industry segments do you target?
Roland Teoh: We target a wide range of industry segments including 5G applications, Industrial automation, and Oil & Gas. There is real potential for market growth in the next few years as the industry's demand for more high temperature and stable components increases. Dynamic Engineers will be ready to fill that need.
Q. What is the geographic break up of your customers?
Roland Teoh: Asia is our largest market. It comprises of 60% of our sales, with Europe and the US markets making up the rest.

Q. Where are your manufacturing facilities located?
Roland Teoh: Each of our manufacturing facilities in Europe and Asia have their own specialty and logistics capabilities. This allows us to meet all our customer’s needs in a timely manner.
Q. Do you have a range of standard products or do you also develop custom products for clients? If so, what is the % break up between Standard and Custom Products?
Roland Teoh: We offer both Custom and Standard products to our customers. The break down is split evenly (i.e 50% - 50%) between Standard and Custom Products. Our professional design engineers can customize products to meet specific functional parameters of customers.
Q. What is the typical timeline for a custom product from order to delivery?
Roland Teoh: There are various factors which determine a product’s timeline, such as the customer’s specification and the availability of materials. On average, it takes about 4 to 18 weeks from the moment a custom product is ordered to the date of its delivery.
