Advantech Wireless Technologies has signed a multi-year agreement to supply a major SATCOM system integrator with its Summit II high power SSPA systems. Tony Radford, Advantech’s VP Global Sales, stated Advantech has been contracted by a major SATCOM system integrator to support a multi-year program. They have received the initial purchase order of more than $2 million dollars (CAD). Under the terms of the agreement, Advantech will supply its Summit II high power SSPA systems to the integrator’s project.
The Summit II SSPA systems are high power, wide bandwidth, all outdoor ruggedized systems that allow operation with multiple carriers and outstanding linearity. The new modular Summit II system is available with 4, 8 or 16 amplifiers that are phase combined into a single amplifier that can generate extremely high levels of RF output power – up to 10,000 watts or more. Summit II is available in C, X, Ku and S-band architectures.
Configured for dual band operation, the Summit II systems contain the latest gallium nitride (GaN) technology and operate over a high speed CANbus monitor and control platform for maximum efficiency and reliability.
