Johanson Technologies Introduces Ceramic SMT Filter for Wi-Fi 6 Applications

Wi-Fi 6 is the new Wi-Fi standard that has been developed to bring customers greater speeds and to allow them to connect a larger number of devices to a network simultaneously with better communications efficiency. Short-range, latency-sensitive devices that use these new family of wireless Wi-Fi RF chipsets require proper filtering for optimum FCC/ETSI compliance in a small footprint.

To cater to this demand, Johanson Technologies has released its first ceramic SMT BPF using a novel proprietary material. This newly developed LTCC allows one to pack HiQ type L/Cs in a monolithic cost-effective device. The 6530BP44A1190 from Johanson Technology is a Ceramic Band Pass Filter with a passband from 5925 to 7125 MHz. It can handle up to 3 W of input power, has an insertion loss of 2.3 dB, and a ripple factor of 1.9 dB. This filter provides an attenuation of more than 33 dB from 30 to 5650 MHz and more than 6 dB from 8250 to 14210 MHz. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4.50 x 3.20 x 2.20 mm and is suitable for Wi-Fi 6 applications.
