Empower RF has introduced a solid-state tri-band amplifier in a single 3U chassis that is ideal for general-purpose lab and production line test applications. The 2198 is an ultra-wideband amplifier that operates from 20 to 6000 MHz in a three-band compact configuration. The amplifier system consists of three amplifiers: One from 20 MHz to 1000 MHz that provides 100 watts of power, another operates from 1000 to 3000 MHz and provides 100 watts of power and the third from 2000 to 6000 MHz and provides 40 watts of power.
With user-selectable modulation and power output modes, this amplifier integrates easily into any test system and simplifies test setups with selectable AGC and ALC modes. The amplifier is ready to go out of the box with its built-in browser GUI so there’s no software to install for PC or LAN control.
The 2198 is a popular choice for semiconductor and other microwave component testing applications, CW or pulsed. RF is routed to the single output connector via internal RF switching to the selected band. Band selection done through the front panel LCD, peer or LAN connected PC via browser GUI (no software to install) or via SCPI ASCII commands over Ethernet or serial port.
