Microwave Photonics Systems Releases a New Line of RF-Over-Fiber Modules from 0.1 to 3.5 GHz

Microwave Photonic Systems, a company specializing in designing, developing and manufacturing Radio Frequency / Microwave and Fiber Optic components and systems, has updated its line of microwave photonic modules that can now operate from 0.1 to 3.5 GHz. These modules comprise of transmitter and receiver units capable of performing Electrical-to-Optical (E/O) and Optical-to-Electrical (O/E) conversions to enable a wideband communication system, thereby making it suitable for various applications that include RF delay lines, telemetry tracking, antenna remoting, time and frequency reference distribution and point-to-point RF transmission links.

The transmitter utilizes a low noise, high dynamic range Distributed Feedback (DFB) laser with integrated temperature stability control. The unit provides the user with a open collector summary status pin.

The Receiver system on the other hand, utilizes a high speed, low distortion PIN photodiode detector that is integrated with a broadband RF post amplifier. The unit provides the user with an open collector summary status pin.

The utilization of the MP-128TX, in conjunction with the appropriate MP-128RX RF/Fiber Optic Receiver, forms a single, fully integrated broadband link capable of supporting the transmission of RF signals over single-mode optical fiber for use in a wide array of communication applications.

One of Microwave Photonic Systems' core competencies is its ability to design and develop custom hardware and systems solutions on extremely aggressive program schedules.
