RF Electronics Offering Modular RF Shielded Chambers for Wireless Device Testing from 10 kHz to 18 GHz

RF Electronics, a designer and manufacturer of RF/ Microwave test products based in India, has developed a series of RF Shielded Chambers that are designed for large area WLAN, multiple client/multiple AP wireless devices testing from 10 kHz to 18 GHz. The HDRF-CHM Series of RF Shielded Chambers have rugged construction and are available in customized sizes to suit application-specific requirements of the test platform.

The HDRF-CHM Series of chambers use thick RF absorbing foam that deadens standing waves and reflections. They provide a high-level of isolation up to 18 GHz for accurate performance. RF shielding is provided with high grade hot rolled galvanized steel for the floor, walls and ceiling. These shielded chambers are manufactured in a modular and self-supporting (independent from host building) way making them easy to set up and scale. The whole system is supported by a freestanding steel structural frame and conforms to the Uniform Building Code (UBC) and internationally accepted Institute of Steel Construction (SIC) standards. The entire chamber can be easily dismantled and reinstalled without performance losses. These shielded chambers meet the DIN 17162 – EN 10142 standard, Quality as per DX 52D and corrosion protection Zinc layer of suitable thickness is provided.

The doors of shielded chambers usually lower the overall shielding effectiveness of the chamber. RF Electronics' team with deep rooted expertise in shielded structural design has indigenously designed and developed a double knife edge door frame structure to provide unrivaled isolation performance. These chambers have a wide range of I/O connector options and are equipped with shielded power filters for power connection in the box while still blocking all wireless signals.

The HDRF-CHM series of semi/fully anechoic chambers are lined with microwave absorbers on all (floor optional) sides which can withstand 200 V/m field strength (CW signal) and intermittent field intensity (Radar pulses) of 600 V/m (figures may vary depending on the size of the absorbers.) They are also compliant with the DIN 4102 fire retardant standards.

With a considerable amount of investment at stake, one has to plan and ensure the use of appropriate electrical protection control gear to save the valuables inside the shield room from electric hazards. RF Electronics provides Electric Protection Control gear as a default feature of all shield rooms manufactured. The size and number of components of control gear may vary depending on the size/use of shield room.

Air vents and AC ducts are installed to provide ventilation and to cool down the chamber when required. The customer can specify the number of required ducts which can be pre-installed in the chamber. The dimensions and quantity of the Air-vents is selected with reference to duct opening to provide appropriate cooling/conditioning.

The HDRF-CHM series shielded chambers are ideal for a wide range of applications including wireless testing, digital forensics, R&D and EMI/EMC testing. They are also suitable for 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, Bluetooth, RFID, 3G, 5G device testing.
