Reactel, a designer and manufacturer of RF and Microwave filters, diplexers, and sub-assemblies covering DC through 67 GHz, has introduced new suspended substrate filters that operate from 2 to 40 GHz. These filters are designed to provide a high quality factor over a wide operating bandwidth. They are constructed based on a methodology that is suitable to be used for bandpass, lowpass, highpass, notch, and in multiplexer designs.
The filters are chemically etched directly onto a board substrate providing excellent repeatability and manufactured on a copper clad dual-sided board that ensures extremely low loss and high selectivity. They are manufactured in a computer-controlled environment and are the optimal topology for supporting extremely wide bandwidths, up to 150%.
The suspended substrate filters, owing to their rugged construction, can withstand stringent military applications, and eliminates issues due to shock and vibration due to the limited number of mechanical components used within the filters. Furthermore, the construction methods used to design these filters can also be incorporated into other product line offerings from the company, offering unprecedented flexibility to meet tough requirements.
These filter units are custom-built and require exact specifications from the customers. The customers are welcome to contact the factory to discuss and provide the electrical specifications of the filter design.
