Antenova has introduced a new ultra-compact surface mount dual-band antenna called Mutica. Mutica has been designed for Wi-Fi 802.11n applications in the 2.4 GHz to 2.5 GHz band and 4.9 GHz to 5.9 GHz band. Its specification supports high speed data transfers and MIMO making it ideal for security cameras, video cameras, set-top-boxes, access points, wearables and devices for connected vehicles.
There were over 2.4 billion Wi-Fi enabled devices shipped in 2014 and in 2015, the industry crossed the mark of 10 billion Wi-Fi Devices sold cumulatively. Over half the Wi-Fi enabled products shipped today are dual band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz. The 802.11ac standard is set to become the prevailing WLAN standard over the next few years as it can offer higher data throughput with more channels and less interference than at 2.4 GHz.
The Mutica is part of Antenova's “Design For Integration” approach where the antennas can be easily embedded within a customers product while maintaining its performance. This makes integration of this antenna very easy. They also provide advice on RF design and the integration of the antenna, along with engineering assistance and customer support, and provides the CAD footprint files of each antenna free of charge.
