Microwave Components is offering air core inductors that can be individually customized to the customers’ specifications and application needs. These inductors are designed to provide multi-octave performance, high quality factor, low loss, self-resonance, and high mechanical stability with rugged axial leads, resulting in a robust and holistic solution for customers looking for the right balance between cost and performance.
These air core inductors are made using fine wires that are manufactured using materials such as gold, silver, copper, gold-plated copper, aluminum, and other specific alloys as well. The size of these wires range from 50 AWG to 28 AWG. With this, customers now have the ability to choose the appropriate wire type for their application.
MCI’s air core inductors come in standard coil inner diameters ranging from 0.010 inches to 0.050 inches, offering ultra-compactness for various small form-factor electronic applications. MCI has developed various configurations while maintaining the standard sizes and materials. These include:
- Insulated or bare wire
- Spaced and non-spaced
- Bonded or non-bonded
- Stripped or non-stripped
- Tinned or non-prepped leads
An engineer from a defense industry said, “MCI consistently delivers quality coils on time at a competitive price. Sales and support are top notch.”
MCI prides itself on its absolute confidentiality in all that they do. All of their work is custom-designed to the clients’ specifications and applications and is kept confidential from drawing board to completion and beyond. MCI recognizes the significant negative impact product obsolescence has on the defense, hi-rel, and space markets they support. As long as MCI can obtain the raw materials required to manufacture the part, MCI will continue to support customers and supply every part in their extensive product portfolio.
