Teledatics, an innovator in Wi-Fi HaLow technology, has announced the successful completion of a long-range HaLow communication link spanning 106 kilometers. This test, conducted in collaboration with Newracom and TE Connectivity, demonstrates the impressive capabilities of Wi-Fi HaLow for long-range, low-power applications.
Using the high-power Wi-Fi HaLow module developed by Teledatics and powered by Newracom’s NRC7394 SoC, the test achieved reliable Wi-Fi HaLow connections over the mountainous terrain from Mount Greylock to Mount Wachusett. TE Connectivity’s advanced antennas played a crucial role in this achievement, providing the necessary signal strength and stability.
"This milestone showcases the true potential of Wi-Fi HaLow technology," said James Ewing, CEO of Teledatics. "Beating the previous distance record by over 3500 percent not only highlights the capabilities of our high-power modules but also opens up new possibilities for applications that require long-range connectivity."
The TD-HALOM module, boasting a 1-Watt output power and operating within the 900 MHz ISM frequency band, is engineered for applications that require superior long-range performance. It is ideal for diverse use cases such as agricultural monitoring, industrial site management, drone operations, and wide-area outdoor connectivity.
"The NRC7394 SoC is at the forefront of Wi-Fi HaLow technology," added Dr. Sok Kyu Lee, CEO of Newracom. "Its integration into Teledatics’ module and the successful test results confirm its superior performance and potential for widespread adoption."
Teledatics’ success in this test is a significant step forward in the mass adoption of Wi-Fi HaLow technology, providing a reliable, low-power solution for a wide range of wireless environments.
