KRYTAR, a leader in the design and production of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment, has announced two new directional couplers operating in the wideband frequency range of 1.7 to 20.0 GHz (L- through K-Bands) offering nominal coupling of 20 dB and 30 dB. These new couplers offer the ultimate solution for emerging designs and test and measurement applications including wireless communications, radar and satellite communications (SATCOM).
KRYTAR’s new directional coupler, Model 101720020, offers superior performance ratings with a nominal coupling (with respect to output) of 20 dB ±1.8 dB and a frequency sensitivity is ±1.8 dB. The directional coupler exhibits insertion loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.0 dB, directivity of more than 10 dB, and a maximum VSWR is 1.45 at any port.
The directional coupler, Model 101720030, offers superior performance ratings with a nominal coupling (with respect to output) of 30 dB ±1.8 dB and a frequency sensitivity is ±1.8 dB. The directional coupler exhibits insertion loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.0 dB, directivity of over 10 dB, and handles a maximum VSWR is 1.45 at any port.
Both the couplers offer input power rating of 20 W (average) and 3 kW (peak). The directional couplers come with industry-standard 3.5 mm-female connectors and optional 3.5 mm male connectors. Each compact package measures just 2.40 inches (L) x 0.53 inches (W) x 0.69 inches (H), and weighs only 2.1 ounces. Operating temperature is from -54°C to 85°C.
KRYTAR’s extended family of Directional Couplers are uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many ultra-broadband applications including electronic warfare (EW), mmWave, 5G NR (New Radio), Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, SATCOM, radar, MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) radio links, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming, and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing environments. Many KRYTAR products can meet the rigorous demands of both space and thermal vacuum applications.
