Netcom Develops Compact Tunable RF Filter with a Passband Frequency Range from 1.7 to 2.3 GHz

Netcom, a company that designs and manufactures tunable filters, RF amplifiers, LC filters, and integrated assemblies for the military, aerospace, and wireless communications, has developed 5781-11, a single-band tunable RF filter that has a passband frequency range from 1700 to 2300 MHz and a bandwidth of 11%. This filter has a passband insertion loss of 5 dB and provides a rejection of -18 dB in the stopband in a small form-factor.

This filter is equipped with a control system that is comparable to large size filters. It can be tuned with a tuning speed of 10 µs and a tuning resolution of 1 MHz, and includes an SPI serial interface at the input side for control. This filter requires a supply voltage of 3.3 V (DC) and consumes less than 30 mA of current. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 0.575 x 0.575 x 0.0108 inches.

The 5781-11 is compliant with the RoHS and MIL-STD-810E standard.
