Domo Tactical Communications (DTC), a provider of advanced communication solutions, has introduced its latest innovation, the BluSDR-90-UL. This state-of-the-art software-defined radio (SDR) offers unmatched long-range communication capabilities for uncrewed systems and military operations, specifically designed for highly contested and complex environments.
Revolutionary Communication Technology
The BluSDR-90-UL stands out for its high-performance and ultra-lightweight design. Weighing just 210 grams, it can easily fit in the palm of your hand, making it ideal for platforms where space and weight are at a premium, such as medium-sized drones, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and unmanned surface vessels (USVs). With a power output of 10 watts and capable of providing reliable connectivity over distances up to 150km, it delivers exceptional operational flexibility.
Steve Beeching, SVP and Managing Director EMEA at DTC, emphasized the cutting-edge nature of the new device: "The BluSDR-90-UL meets the ultra-SWaP demands while offering multiple waveforms, low latency, and high bandwidth in highly contested environments. This innovation aligns with our mission to support our customers at the speed of relevance, ensuring reliable communications all the way to the tactical edge."
Mission-Critical Innovation for Diverse Applications
The BluSDR family, including the new BluSDR-90-UL, offers a multi-waveform, software-defined architecture. It comes equipped with DTC’s renowned MeshUltra™ waveforms, which support up to 144 nodes in a single network. With features like anti-jamming, anti-spoofing, and spectrum scanning, these radios provide robust communication solutions even in environments prone to electronic warfare threats.
Rob Garth, Business Unit Director for Uncrewed Systems at DTC, praised the system’s versatility: "The BluSDR-90-UL is designed for seamless integration, making it a game-changer for medium to large uncrewed platforms. Whether in the air, on land, or at sea, it provides the reliable long-range communication needed to operate in the most challenging conditions."
DTC is showcasing the BluSDR-90-UL at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2024 event in Washington, D.C., from October 14-16. Visitors can experience hands-on demonstrations of DTC’s full range of SDR solutions, including the SDR-H2 and Sentry Mesh 6161, showcasing the future of mission-critical communication technology.
