Telesat, a global leader in satellite communications, will partner with Intellian, a top provider of satellite communication solutions, to design, supply, and integrate advanced gateway antennas for the highly anticipated Telesat Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation. The contract will see Intellian deploying 127 Gateway Antenna Systems at key Landing Stations around the world, forming the backbone of the terrestrial infrastructure that will support Telesat’s enterprise-class LEO connectivity.
Groundbreaking Gateway Antennas
Intellian’s cutting-edge 4-meter Gateway Antenna Systems are specifically designed for LEO satellite tracking, boasting high precision and durability even in the most extreme weather conditions. These antennas are engineered to enhance RF efficiency, while reducing long-term maintenance and energy consumption, making them an integral part of the Lightspeed network.
Each Landing Station in the Telesat network will be equipped with multiple Intellian antennas alongside baseband, network, and control systems, ensuring seamless routing of customer data to telecom networks, cloud services, and private interconnections.

Intellian's CEO, Eric Sung, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the unique role Intellian plays in developing advanced antenna systems. "This collaboration solidifies our crucial role in the satellite communications ecosystem," said Sung.
Telesat’s Vice President of Lightspeed Systems Development, Aneesh Dalvi, praised Intellian’s engineering prowess, citing the company's proven track record during LEO demonstration satellite testing. “We have the right partner to ensure that our global terrestrial infrastructure integrates seamlessly with our space assets, enabling the delivery of reliable global services by 2027,” said Dalvi.
