ART-BODY is the first instant SAR measurement system with a fixed probe-array for large devices. It can be used for SAR measurement of small cells, laptops, and tablets. It measures the SAR of a body as specified in the IEC 62232 and IEC 62209-2 standards.
Small cells are divided into Microcells, Picocells, and Femtocells. They are compact base stations that extend mobile coverage into areas where coverage is poor or needs to be improved.
- Femtocells are the size of a WiFi router and are used in homes or small offices where coverage is poor.
- Microcells on the other hand are larger and are used in areas of mass congregation where many people need cellular service simultaneously, like sporting events.
All Small cell products need to undergo RF exposure assessments to ensure that they comply with relevant RF exposure limits.
This new Laptop and Tablet SAR Emission Measurement System from ART-Fi called ART-BODY makes the measurement process very easy. The ART-BODY system features a fixed, 100% vector probe-array that eliminates the "sweeping probe method," resulting in highly accurate measurements and industry-leading confidence. The "Sweeping probe" type systems move a probe-array across the measurement area for large devices - which takes longer than the fixed vector probe-array method.
In the next few years, many devices like laptops, tablets and wearables will connect to the internet via 5G. All these devices will need to be tested to ensure they meet acceptable SAR emission standards. ART-BODY has been developed to cater to this market.
