DoD Funded Company Launches First Commercial Product Using touchless Wireless Power Transfer Technology

WiGL, a trailblazer in touchless wireless charging for IoT devices, has achieved a milestone, transforming Over-the-Air (OTA) wireless power from futuristic concept to practical reality. WiGL’s primary aim is to help the world rethink how we use electrical power. They have developed touchless Wireless Power Transfer (tWPT) technology and want to make getting electrical power the same as how we wirelessly access the internet.

Through strategic partnerships with the U.S. Air Force’s AFWERX Small Business Innovation Research group and Tactical Financing (TACFI), WiGL has successfully transitioned its innovative technology into commercially available products. To demonstrate this technology, they developed the world's first WiGL-enabled Wireless Christmas Tree. This product is powered by WiGL’s OTA wireless network. This breakthrough marks the beginning of WiGL’s mission to bring Department of Defense (DoD) innovations to everyday consumers. Leveraging the AFWERX-developed touchless Wireless Power Transfer (tWPT) network, WiGL introduces the first in-home OTA wireless power network.

WiGL’s Wireless Christmas Tree serves as a proof of concept for the future of in-home OTA wireless recharging. While initially developed for military applications, this technology now offers a glimpse into the everyday convenience of untethered device charging.

“The creation of the world’s very first OTA wireless power network has been a journey,” said Dr. Ahmad Glover, CEO of WiGL Inc. “Meeting and exceeding DoD and regulatory requirements has taken a lot of time, money, and focus. But I am SUPER proud of the team. Our motto is focus and finish. Hats off to every WiGL’er…you did it!”

What’s Next for WiGL?

The Wireless Christmas Tree is just the beginning. WiGL plans to roll out additional OTA products, aiming to educate the public on the value and potential of wireless recharging. From battlefield applications to consumer convenience, WiGL is redefining how we think about power. They are creating a family of products that create, wirelessly transmit and/or store electrical power to recharge IoT devices. From hand-held WiGL eNERGY saltwater powered generators (SWG) used to recharge cellphones…to…suitcase sized SWGs that replace solar panels, WiGL is changing the future.
