Samtec has introduced new high-frequency micro waveguide technology designed to meet the demands of next-generation millimeter-wave systems. The technology uses a cable-based design that reduces size while maintaining loss performance comparable to that of traditional rigid waveguides. This new waveguide solution offers flexibility, dynamic stability, near-zero loss performance, an ultra-small form factor, and support for V-band frequencies from 50 to 75 GHz.
Micro-Waveguide Products from Samtec
WF15 - V-Band Flexible Waveguide Assembly
The WF15 features a flexible, cabled design with threaded coupling and an ultra-small plug form factor measuring 5 mm (.196") x 8 mm (.314"). It performs like a rigid waveguide with far lower loss than coaxial cable, while remaining stable across the full V-band range of 50 to 75 GHz. The assembly has a cross section of 3.76 mm (.148") x 1.88 mm (.074") with a UG-385 to Threaded Waveguide Jack adaptor (WGBA Series). Click here to learn more.
WGBA - Between-Series Waveguide Flange Adaptor
The WGBA adaptor mates with a WR12 standard flange and features an outer diameter of 19.05 mm (.750"). It provides UG-385 to Threaded Waveguide Jack connectivity for V-band systems operating from 50 to 75 GHz. Click here to learn more.
75T - V-Band Threaded Waveguide Connector
Designed as a stripline-to-waveguide PCB connector, the 75T is a threaded, right-angle jack utilizing a solderless compression-mount interface. It supports stripline routing and mates with the WF15 flexible waveguide assembly. It has a frequency ranging from 50 to 75 GHz (V-band). Click here to learn more.
