Vayyar Imaging has unveiled four APIs for its consumer product, Walabot, an advanced 3D sensor technology that makes it possible to see through objects and materials, and can be programmed to create various applications. These APIs will enable the ability to track targets, see through walls, and monitor breathing along with out-putting the raw sensor data.
This release will give developers, makers and creators the opportunity to get a first-hand look at the platform’s powerful technology ahead of the Walabot hardware and Software Development Kit (SDK) release. Its sensor magnetically attaches to the back of one’s smartphones, and its in-wall imaging sample application is compatible with select Android devices running version 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher.
The Walabot development team will provide support to the maker community throughout the API process by soliciting feedback, hosting building workshops for community creators, and collaborating with makers to create new types of applications. Focus areas will range from robotic vision and smart home monitoring to fitness and wellness.
They will be shipping the Walabot SDK alongside the Walabot hardware to the U.S. and E.U. markets in April and May, enabling makers and builders to start creating themselves. Walabot can be programmed using Windows and Linux and will soon expand to other development environments. Click here to pre-order this product.
