Anritsu has released the Enhanced Multi-signalling Unit MD8475B-071 and LTE 4 x 4 MIMO Option MX847550B-041 to expand the functions of its popular Signalling Unit MD8475B.
Adding this new option supports configuration of a simulation environment for 1 Gbps IP data communications combining 4 x 4 MIMO with high-order modulation (256 QAM) and carrier aggregation. Previous 1 Gbps evaluation required difficult setup using several pieces of equipment, but the all-in-one MD8475B simplifies measurement to not only increase test efficiency but also to cut capital expenditure.
By offering LTE-Advanced evaluation solutions, Anritsu is supporting easy development and evaluation of wireless devices, such as smartphones, and hopes to play a key role in commercializing broadband mobile services.
Mobile data traffic has exploded in recent years due to the widespread popularity of mobile phones and increasing numbers of rich-content services. Anritsu is helping create this evaluation environment with this release adding 1 Gbps IP throughput evaluation to the MD8475B.

Its wide test coverage and easy operability using multiple RF ports supporting up to 8Tx tests, plus SmartStudio (state-machine GUI) with a wide variety of parameter settings make light work of configuring an evaluation environment for mobile terminals supporting carrier aggregation.
Strengthening the MD8475B functions with these newly released Enhanced Multi-signalling Unit MD8475B-071 hardware and LTE 4 x 4 MIMO Option MX847550B-041 software for evaluating broadband communications will play a major role in development of LTE 4 x 4 MIMO DL mobile terminals.
