Anritsu has announced that the PTCRB accredited LTE-Advanced RF Conformance Test System ME7873LA has become the first validated test platform to earn PTCRB certification for RF Conformance Tests of 5 Downlink Carrier Aggregation (5DL CA) in RFT146.
The ME7873LA supports LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology features such as 5DL CA and 4x4 MIMO that are essential to achieve 1Gbps throughput speeds. Support of throughput speeds greater than 1Gbps helps create a more efficient transition to 5G use-case of eMBB (enhanced Mobile Broadband). 5DL CA is being widely deployed by most North American operators to achieve higher throughput.
PTCRB 5DL CA validation for the ME7873LA occurred at PTCRB meeting #92 in Memphis. As the first and only test system to obtain certification to date, the ME7873LA is expected to play a key role in certification of 5DL CA services and in bringing new terminals to market quickly.
Anritsu continues its focus on developing conformance test systems, including LTE-A, to support development of advanced future mobile broadband services. The ME7873LA is a test platform that automates RF and RRM tests supporting the latest 3GPP standards, in addition to legacy technologies. As well as R&D test functions, FDD and TDD mobile frequency bands and TRx tests are supported, along with freely customized system configurations. It is also used as an acceptance inspection test system by mobile carriers worldwide, especially in North America and Asia.
