Quectel Wireless has announced the certifications of eight variants of its best-selling LTE EC2x family by T-Mobile US. With the approvals, the LTE modules are now immediately available for operation on T-Mobile US' reliable 4G LTE network, which will significantly result in faster time-to-market and lower development costs for IoT developers and integrators in North America.
The eight certified Quectel modules are:
The certified products are dual-mode modules pin-compatible with each other, with EC21-A and EC25-A series supporting LTE bands of B2/B4/B12 and WCDMA bands of B2/B4/B5, as well as data and voice connection.
Featuring cost-effectiveness, low-power LTE connectivity and optional integrated GNSS, EC21-A in both LCC and Mini PCIe form factor deliver peak data rates of 10 Mbps downlink and 5 Mbps uplink, and are ideal choice for IoT verticals that are not reliant on high speed connectivity, such as smart metering, wearable devices, environmental monitoring, asset tracking, fleet management, security and alarm systems.
While the EC25-A series offer 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink peak data rates, they can be adopted by IoT developers who are looking for high-speed and reliable connectivity in segments like industrial router, industrial PDA, rugged tablet PC, video surveillance and digital signage.
Furthermore, the EC25-AF and EC25-AF Mini PCIe series (both data-only and "data + voice" versions) support 4G frequency bands of B2/B4/B5/B12/B13/B14/B66/B71 as well as 3G fallback on bands B2/B4/B5. This ensures that EC25-AF series can operate on mainstream carriers in North American region with one SKU, such as T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon. Moreover, the EC25-AF series support multi-carrier switch by detecting (U) SIM card. The availability of First Net B14 makes them ideal for public safety use cases.
